This is my mother.
I drew from life and took photographs, and chose the stance that felt right at the time.
My mother takes beautiful photographs but hates being the subject, so here she is avoiding the lens, and my concentrated attention. The depth of her eyes betrays her intensity, despite her avoidance of our gaze.
